Adinazolam (trade name Deracyn) is a sedative of the triazolobenzodiazepine class, it is a bezodiazepine compounded with a triazole ring. This drug has sedative, antidepressant, anxiolytic, and anticonvulsant properties. NDMAD has about 25 times the affinity for benzodiazepine receptors compared to alprozolam and causes the greatest mental and physical sedation. The drug has a property to bind to and act on benzodiazepine receptors.
Adinazolam was first synthesized by Jackson B. Hester as an antidepressant-enhanced, nondiazepine drug, but it was never approved and was never marketed as a medication.
An overdose may result in muscle weakness, dysarthria, ataxia, decreased reflexes, and in rare cases, coma. Adinazolam is currently used as a designer drug for chemical studies in special laboratories.
