Butonitazene is an opioid analgesic of the benzimidazole class, an analogue of etonitazine. The opioid potency of Butonitazene is approximately 50 times that of morphine. Butonitazene has sedative properties, analgesic properties, a strong hypnotic agent; at high dosages, respiratory depression can be suppressed, up to and including death. Butonitazene, like all etonitazine derivatives, was first developed in the middle of the last century, but they have become popular in our time only as designer drugs for chemical research.
